In each case one of the following drawing materials was used: Water Colour Pencil, Graphite Pencil, Charcoal Pencil or Pastel Pencil. Each work was produced in 2009 using photographs as the subject reference material.

Michael F. Coady. Michael Coady has been writing music for over thirty years. He writes at the piano and arranges for small instrumental groups and electronic synthesizer. Michael painted landscapes for twenty five years, and has quite recently branched into drawing portraits.

Jane Peters. Jane is a violinist born in Adelaide, Australia. She began studying the violin at age 7 and made her stage debut at age 10. Two years later she won the Showcase Competition on Australian television, and in 1986, won the 3rd Prize and the Public Prize at the Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow. Now based in Paris, she has appeared in numerous international festivals, such as Marlboro (USA), Prussia Cove (Cornwall), Barosso (Australia) and Festival des Saintes (France). In 1992, she played several concerts dedicated to works of Xenakis at La Scala, Sydney Opera and Paris' Autumn Festival. Peters won the International Prize of Pro Musica (1994) and has been Arts Ambassador for Australia since 1996.

Alida Valli (1921–2006) was an Italian actress who appeared in over 100 films. At fifteen, she went to Rome, where she attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, a school for film actors and directors. At that time, she lived with her uncle Ettore Tolomei. Valli started her movie career in 1934, in The Three Cornered Hat. During the Second World War, she became a movie star. Valli had a career in English language films through David Selznick, who signed her to a contract, thinking that he had found a second Ingrid Bergman. In Hollywood, she performed in several movies: she was the murder suspect Maddalena Paradine in Alfred Hitchcock's The Paradine Case (1947), and the mysterious Czech refugee wanted by the Russians in post-war Vienna in Carol Reed's The Third Man (1949). She returned to Europe in the early 1950s, and starred in many French and Italian films.

Sonya Salomaa. Sonya Salomaa was born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. She studied for bachelor of science in forestry at the University of Northern British Columbia. During a summer break she moved to Victoria to sing and play guitar at ‘open mikes’ to be more creative. While in Victoria, she took an acting workshop conducted by two of Vancouver’s top casting directors on a whim. A few days later, both casting directors invited Sonya to Vancouver for several auditions. Recently, Sonya joined the cast of the hit series The Guard. Sonya plays the wife of Justin Louis, Traci Prager, in the television series Durham County. Sonya was recently nominated for a 2008 Leo Award for her role in this series. Sonya also stars in The Ties That Bind for Lifetime produced by Insight Productions and directed by Terry Ingram.

Audrey Hepburn (1929-1993) She was born in Ixelles as Audrey Kathleen Ruston. She spent her childhood chiefly in the Netherlands, including German-occupied Arnhem, Netherlands, during the Second World War. She studied ballet in Arnhem and then moved to London in 1948, where she continued to train in ballet and worked as a photographer's model. She appeared in a handful of European films before starring in the 1951 Broadway play Gigi. Audrey won an Academy Award for her role in Roman Holiday (1953). Audrey Hepburn became one of the most successful film actresses in the world. She won BAFTA Awards for her performances in The Nun's Story and Charade.

Marcela Fiorillo. Marcela is an Argentine-born pianist, and is now a resident of Canberra, Australia. She studied composition under Jacobo Fischer in Buenos Aires. She has conducted and performed the Australian Premiere of the Tango Opera "María de Buenos Aires" in 2008. Marcela Fiorillo has played in the main concert halls of Argentina: Colon Theatre Belgrano Auditorium Recoleta Cultural Cente San Martin Theatre and other places from Buenos Aires and the rest of the country. She has a deep understanding of the expressive idioms and distinctive rhythmic shadings of the piano music of Latin America and Spain. Alyssa Jayne Milano. She was born in New York City in 1972. She is an American actress and former singer. Her acting career began after she appeared in the Broadway show Annie. She played regular roles on television as Samantha Micelli in the sitcom Who's the Boss? and as Phoebe Halliwell on the supernatural series Charmed. She produced a teen workout video in 1988 called Teen Steam. In 1985, Milano was in the film Commando as Jenny Matrix who was John Matrix’s daughter. A few years later this film was shown in Japan prompting a producer to offer Alyssa a five album record deal.

Grace Patricia Kelly. (1929-1982) Kelly became an actress in the 1950s, starring in such films as Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, High Society, and The Country Girl, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. She retired from acting at age 26. She became "Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco" upon marrying Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, in 1956. Kelly maintained dual American and Monegasque citizenship after her marriage. Kelly died after being critically injured in a car accident with her daughter Stephanie in 1982. The American Film Institute ranked her amongst the Greatest Female Stars of All Time.

Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955) was a German theoretical physicist. He received the 1921 Nobel Prize for Theoretical Physics. During his life he contributed to the modern understanding of matter, energy and gravitation. In fact even 50 years after his death some of his (at the time) radical statistical approaches find application in modern sub-atomic physics. Einstein published more than 300 scientific and over 150 non-scientific works. Some of his best known work in Physics: Proof of the Existence of the Atom, The Special and General Theories of Relativity, Relativistic Cosmology, Photon Theory, Particle-Wave Duality of Matter, Explanation of Brownian Motion.

Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock (1899–1980) He was a British filmmaker and producer who pioneered many techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres. After a successful career in his native United Kingdom in both silent films and early talkies, Hitchcock moved to Hollywood. In 1956 he became an American citizen while retaining his British citizenship. Hitchcock directed more than fifty feature films in a career spanning six decades. He remains one of the most popular and most recognised film makers, and his works are still popular today. His image has endured partly due to cameo appearances in his own films and the series of television dramas he hosted, the Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
